Daily Reading
The students are required to read at least 20 minutes each night. After the first 6 weeks, the students will receive a Reading Response Activitiy to go along with the nightly reading. Parents are encouraged to help monitor the daily reading process. Independent reading is important for the development of comprehension skills and vocabulary. The color of the reading response sheet will change weekly and the content will change periodically based on the objectives that are being covered in class. The students will have opportunities to add to their reading response during their daily independent reading in class also.
Reading Response
A copy of the current Reading Response Activity is listed below and can be printed if students lose their original. Students should have the due date on the activity and in their agenda. The Response is completed using their current novel. They can answer each part using their reading for that week. They do not have to complete their book prior to submitting the Reading Response.
